Future value calculator
Updated November 6, 2026. Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Enter a present value, rate per period (%), number of periods, and an optional contribution each period. You'll see a future-value sketch, contributions total, the amount above what you put in, and one calm sentence you can adapt. This is arithmetic only—not investment advice, not a forecast, and not tax advice.
How to use the number
- Match rate and periods (annual with years, or monthly rate with months).
- For compounding-frequency controls, see the free compound interest calculator. For simple ROI %, see the ROI calculator.
- When the hard part is the bill, raise, or offer call that funds the contribution, use a script.
What to say when cash or pay is the bottleneck
Knowing the future-value sketch is step one. Saying the next line on a bill, raise, or offer call is where people freeze. The Bills Kit ($19) gives word-for-word lines for bill moments plus Call Mode. If pay is the lever, see the Offer Kit ($29). One-time purchase, 14-day refund on both.

How is future value calculated?
With no contribution, FV ≈ PV × (1 + r)^n, where r is the rate per period and n is the number of periods. With an end-of-period contribution C, this sketch adds C × ((1+r)^n − 1) / r when r > 0 (or C × n when r = 0).
Is this investment advice?
No. It is simple arithmetic on the numbers you enter, plus a sample sentence you can adapt. It ignores taxes, fees, risk, and changing rates. It is not a prospectus, tax advice, or a substitute for a qualified professional.
What period should I use?
Match rate and periods: annual rate with years, or convert to a monthly rate with months. This page treats rate as percent per period and periods as a count you choose.
How is this different from the compound interest calculator?
Same family of math. This page focuses on a clean PV / rate / periods / optional contribution future-value sketch. The compound interest calculator adds compounding-frequency controls for a fuller sketch.
Guidance only, not legal, financial, or tax advice. The calculator does simple arithmetic on the numbers you enter.
